Author Guidelines
The Science Management Design Journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, theoretical perspectives, and innovative practices that explore the intersection of science, management, and design. All manuscripts must be written in English and follow APA (7th edition) style guidelines. Manuscripts should be submitted via email to the Editor-in-Chief at editor@smdjournal.com. Please include a cover letter indicating the type of manuscript (e.g., research article, review paper, etc.) and a statement confirming that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word or a compatible program and should include the following sections: Title page: The title page should include the title of the manuscript, the names and affiliations of all authors, and contact information for the corresponding author. Abstract: The abstract should be no more than 250 words and summarize the main findings of the manuscript. Introduction: The introduction should provide a clear rationale for the study and a brief overview of the relevant literature. Methods: The methods section should provide sufficient detail to allow readers to understand how the study was conducted. Results: The results section should present the main findings of the study in a clear and concise manner. Discussion: The discussion section should interpret the results in light of the study's objectives and provide implications for practice or future research. Conclusion: The conclusion should summarize the main findings of the study and their implications. Manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two anonymous peer reviewers. The review process typically takes 2-4 weeks, and authors will be notified of the decision as soon as possible.Publication Ethics and Misconduct Guidelines
The Science Management Design Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and promoting integrity in research and scholarly publishing. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure ethical practices and prevent misconduct: Author Responsibilities:Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Plagiarism, including the use of others' work without proper citation or permission, is strictly prohibited.
Authorship and Acknowledgments: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. Proper acknowledgment of the contributions of others should be provided. Authors should also disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.
Data Integrity and Reproducibility: Authors should accurately present their research findings and provide sufficient details and data to allow others to reproduce the study. Raw data should be retained for a reasonable period of time after publication.
Multiple Submissions: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Submitting the same work to multiple journals is considered unethical and may result in rejection.
Reviewer Responsibilities:
Objectivity and Confidentiality: Reviewers should provide unbiased and constructive feedback in a timely manner. Reviewers must treat manuscripts and related materials as confidential and refrain from sharing or discussing them without permission.
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest that could potentially bias their review. If a reviewer feels they are unable to provide an objective review due to conflicts, they should decline the review request.
Feedback and Constructive Criticism: Reviewers should provide clear and constructive feedback to help authors improve their work. Personal criticism or derogatory remarks are not acceptable.
Editor Responsibilities:
Fair and Unbiased Decisions: Editors should evaluate manuscripts based on their scholarly merit, relevance, and originality. Decisions on acceptance, revision, or rejection should be based on objective criteria.
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and any related information. They should not disclose any details about the manuscripts or the review process, except as necessary for seeking external review or advice.
Handling of Misconduct: Editors should be vigilant against potential misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification. If any form of misconduct is suspected or alleged, it should be addressed promptly and thoroughly following appropriate guidelines and procedures.
Plagiarism Policy:
Science Management Design Journal has a strict policy against plagiarism. Authors are required to submit original work, properly citing and acknowledging the contributions of others. Plagiarism, including the verbatim or substantial use of others' work without proper attribution, will not be tolerated. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected and may result in sanctions, including banning authors from future submissions.
Any concerns or allegations of misconduct should be reported to the Editor-in-Chief, who will initiate an investigation following established guidelines and procedures.
